Online provision
Due to the implementation of significant restrictions in early 2020, Moving Together translated their regular and established projects into an online format. Alongside this, we are very grateful for the fact our online provision expanded to incoorporate new partners and programmes within this difficult time. Dance and the wider arts have been essential for maintaining our wellbeing, fitness and sense of community, and we at Moving Together are very proud to have continued our facilitation and delivery throughout the pandemic in an online capacity.

The exercise content of the class is important but equally important is the feeling that we are members of a group. At this very difficult time, it is wonderful to forget the current situation and become immersed in your class. It is good to see your faces and, for a moment, one feels that life is back to normal.

Our provision has included but is not limited to:

Continued work alongside Aakash Odedra Company, getting Shiamak classes online as well as The Diabetes Project, Aakash Odedra 2 and the cultivation of new projects such as AOGlobal

Continued delivery of our Over 55s classes through Vimeo inclusive of an online community forum for participants from all 12 previous face to face classes to connect and communicate

DMU Arts Award programmes continuing in an online capacity with weekly Zoom sessions

SEND and Secondary Schools Arts Award sessions continuing through Microsoft Teams live meetings and pre-recorded sessions

SEND School PE provision continuing with weekly pre-recorded sessions made accessible for all to take part

A long-standing series of pre-recorded sessions for Leicester Council in partnership with Leicester Children's Centres, including involvement in the summer "Get Up and Go" scheme creatively utilising resources in the packs delivered to local children and families

Primary practical dance sessions live streamed weekly for all year groups to take part in from home or key worker bubbles at school

Moving Together are committed to continuing our online work while restrictions are in place, and beyond. We are efficient in working with many online platforms inclusive of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Facebook Live, Google Classroom and Vimeo, as well as the creation of resource packs and pre-recorded content.
